Privacy policy

Who we are

Skip Up Ltd(“Skip Up”, “we”) provides skip hire and waste services from Bankfield Farm, Mickle Trafford, Chester CH2 4EN. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in it at [email protected] or on 07523 163550.

What we collect and why

We keep this deliberately minimal. We collect personal information in three situations:

  • When you book a skip (online or by phone): your name, phone number, email address, the delivery address or postcode, and the details of the job (skip size, dates, placement, waste description). We use this to deliver the service you booked, to apply for a council permit where the skip sits on a public road, and to keep records of the hire. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
  • When you contact us without booking: whatever details you choose to share (typically name, contact details and job photos). We use this to answer you. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
  • Automatically, for security: our booking system records basic technical data (such as IP address) to limit spam and abuse of the form. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.

We do not run advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this site, and we do not buy, sell or trade personal data. See the cookie policy for the full (short) story.

Waste law and your details

Waste transfers are documented by law. Where regulations require it, your name and address form part of waste transfer records, and where a skip needs a council permit, the delivery address is shared with the relevant council as part of the application. These are legal obligations of running a licensed waste business.

Who we share it with

Only the services that make the business run: our website hosting provider, our email provider (booking confirmations and replies travel by email), and, as above, councils for permits and regulators for waste documentation where required. Each processes data on our instructions or under their own legal duties. Nothing is shared for marketing.

How long we keep it

Booking and hire records are kept while we need them for the service and then for as long as tax, accounting and waste regulations require. Enquiries that never become bookings are deleted once the conversation is closed.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Email [email protected] and we will respond within a month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle data changes, this page changes with it, with the date above updated. Significant changes will be flagged clearly on the site.
